Useless England dumped out of World Cup 2010

Hopeless, useless and as always, over-rated by the media, England fell to a dismal defeat against Germany 4-1 in their bid for a place in the quarter finals of the World Cup.

The England players have been useless for years - and it is the same motley bunch still on the field. They are not good, either at home or internationally. Why do we persist in believing they are?

It is sickening to hear pundit after pundit say that Gerrard, Cole (both Joe and Ashley), Terry and the other gang of muppets are excellent in the Premiership. They are not.

They lack one thing - talent. They possess one thing - experience. And the definition of experience is not a positive one. The definition of experience, so often means you have been doing a bad job for many years.

In the World Cup Finals England were lucky to draw with a poor Algeria team. They then managed to beat lowly Slovenia just 1-0. After that the deluded media (and equally blind supporters) started heralding England as World Cup winners. Lowly Slovenia, the smallest country in the finals. Even the bookies had England at just 10/1 at this stage to win The World Cup 2010. But England's lack of ability was naked, like the Emperor's new clothes.

England will be useless until one-paced Gerrard, devoid of any flair, the bulldog Terry, hopeless goalkeeper David James (yes he was awful, despite the drivel we hear on the television), abysmal Heskey (is he really in the England squad at all?) and the all of the defence are dumped and never recalled to the international team. Of all the England team, only Rooney, woefully out of form during the finals, belongs on the World Cup stage.

The manager, Fabio Capello, will get the blame. The officials denying Frank Lampard's genuine goal will be the scapegoat. Neither are culpable for the shambles. That failure lies with the players and maybe it is not their fault that they are talentless, always talentless, on the World Cup stage - just as they are week in and week out in the Premiership.
